That's a direct quote from Tim Clifton, the current owner, taken from a
recent article in the LA Times. And it's a philosophy that has held
true since the club's inception in 1989 under it's original ownership.
The Doll Hut is a tiny little dive, holding no more than 50 or so
people at a time, but it reputation is placed up there with clubs like
CBGB and Whiskey-a-go-go. Staying true to its Rockabilly, punk and
countrified roots, they're a staple in the underground music scene...
as for sound I figured I'd ask around.
"Always great music, a
lot of history behind it, and the people are awsome. It's not much to
look at, pretty much just a shack, and the bathrooms are kinda gross
from almost 98 years of people pissing on the floor. Some of the best
times in my life were in that little bar.It is the one thing I've
missed about California, if you go out there you have to check it out,
and if Chris is working tell him Kentucky says he's a bitch, lol. "

place is bad-ass. It's really small. The stage is a 4x8 sheet of
plywood. It was really, REALLY cool in the late 90's when every dude
there had a pomp and hot rod all the way back to that cul-de-sac. Back
then it was "Linda's Doll Hut". Now it's just the "Doll Hut"."

who works at Fearless Records hangs out at that bar....so it's also a
good apportunity for the bands to be seen by a semi-successful label."
